The Rise of the Monochrome Mummy

I’m seriously into my Instagram right now, in fact, scrap that – I love my IG! But I’ve noticed there’s something on my feed which gives me more visual pleasure than other images: a slightly bleached, over-exposed kinda picture – usually with either a Scandi-styled interior or child – but always in black and white! I adore these photographs and you can pretty much guarantee a ♥ from me if you’ve posted one my way; but this is clearly not just me appreciating this style, as much as I’d like to believe everyone is posting these pics just for my benefit! This is a case of supply and demand – me and others out there with the same aesthetic envy crave more and more of these addictive, aspirational images.

There seem to be hoards of mummies living the monochrome dream – a white walled home, with light coloured woods and monochrome accessories (at the very worst some pastel coloured bits and bobs), but not only do they have their excessively and consistently tidy (much to my annoyance and envy), airily styled homes, they appear to have children to match! Have they bought their child from the HAY showroom in Copenhagen or have Ferme Living branched out into a special collection of little people?!

I consider it only prudent to share with you some of my favourite monochrome mamas, in order for you to potentially lose hours of your life you will never retrieve from the time-gobbler known as Instagram! Up top you’ll see a super cool collection from Fourth Tri Mag, swiftly becoming one of my go-to accounts for mumspiration (yes,I believe I may have just coined a new word!) – looking to launch in Autumn of this year it promises to be a monthly must have!

To be honest I could go on and on and on,but these are just some of my faves (for now!), as another pops onto my feed at any given moment of the day (or night) I may well update this post!
